CAMPING ON THE SANDY & SALMON: Camping on the Sandy river is in Oxbow Regional Park. On the Salmon river in the upper basin Wildwood Park and Green Canyons Campground also have improved sites. A very nice place to camp and trout fish during the spring and summer months. Camp Creek a little further up highway 26 also offers camping and stream fishing for small trout. Trillium Lake offers camping and lake fishing for planted trout. Trillium is a great site to camp if you want to spend a few days exploring Mt Hood and is only minutes from Timberline Lodge. All of these sites including Oxbow Regional Park camp sites are closed during the winter months while the park itself stays open for fishing.
